Newport College Student Council Christmas Quiz 10/12/2015
Newport College has a very active Student Council who meet at least once a month through-out the school year. The group of students’ ranging from First to Sixth Year students are very eager to get involved in projects and contribute to school life which they value hugely.
On Thursday 10/12/2015 Newport College Student Council hosted a quiz in the school hall for Fifth class pupils of local schools. We had a fantastic turn out from six schools: KillInure, Birdhill, Newport Boys, Castleconnell, Ballinahinch, and Murroe NS with around one hundred pupils turning out on the day for what was a very enjoyable morning for all involved.
The Student Council spent many hours planning and preparing for the occasion and showcased an excellently polished display on the day. The Student Council and Fifth class pupils and their teachers had a very enjoyable day. The Student Council are eagerly looking forward to their next task.
First place on the day went to Newport Boys Primary School, with two of Ballinahinchs’ teams coming joint second. Congratulations and well done to all the winners and people involved in organising such a successful event.
